The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, on Saturday 8 April 2023, commissioned the NAERLS Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Center (SAEDC). The Minister was accompanied by the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Kabir Bala and other members of the University management.
The Commissioning event was part of the activities planned for the Minister’s two-day visit to the University’s Agriculture-Veterinary Complex. Other Projects commissioned by the Honourable Minister were: the Rehabilitation works at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the Multicrop Seed Processing Plant at the Institute for Agricultural Research (IAR), and the Dairy Complex and Biotechnology Laboratory at the National Animal Product Research Institute (NAPRI). After the declaration of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Center (SAEDC) open by the Honourable Minister, the Executive Director of NAERLS, Professor Emmanuel Ikani, led the team in the tour of the facilities. Also present at the event were all members of the Institute management and a good number of the staff. The head of Centre, Engr AI Abubakar was also fully on ground with his team.
